Instructions: |
1: Mount your art work: Place art face down on kraft
paper placed on a clean flat surface. Unscrew cap of Crafter's
Pick Memory Mount archival mounting adhesive and squeeze a small
amount in the center of the back of the print. Roll out to the edges,
covering entire surface (you can use a straight edge as well). Lift
up and lay down smoothly on foam core backing. Smooth out with cloth. Remove
any Memory Mount on surface of artwork or foam core with a damp
cloth. Wipe with dry cloth. Place face down on glass or clean smooth formica
counter top or table and weight down with books. Allow to dry
overnight. |
2: Using a foam brush, seal artwork with a thin coat of
Crafter's Pick Art Sealer. This protects the art and prevents
the brush stroking process from possibly re-wetting your mounting glue which
can cause a bubble to form as the glue delaminates from the foam core.
Allow about 40 minutes to dry. |
3: Take a small brush and paint on
Crafter's Pick Brush Strokes, following the patterns of the
art work. Apply two to three times to build up an effect. When the Brush
Stroke has dried clear, you can apply the next coating. |

4: After your Brush Strokes are dry,
apply a coat of Craqueleur Fine Crackles Base Coat or Craqueleur Large
Crackles Base Coat. Allow to dry to a clear sticky surface. |
5: Apply Craqueleur Top Coat
liberally with a soft brush. Do not over brush. Be sure to cover
all of your base coat. Let dry overnight. If you find sticky areas after
it has dried, touch up with Top Coat and allow to dry. Let dry overnight,
as surface must be thoroughly dry to handle. |
6: With a small rag, apply a small
amount of linseed oil over entire surface. |
7: With your linseed oil wetted rag,
rub a small amount of oil base paint ( such as Burnt Umber) into cracks.
Wipe excess color off, leaving color in cracks. Let dry
overnight. |
8: Varnish with a spray can of oil
based varnish. |
9: Trim your print using a straight edge and a foam core
knife on a cutting board. |
10: Frame your art using a frame without glass. ( An inexpensive
stock frame will work for this ) |
11: Hang in your home and enjoy your old masterpiece. |
Remember quality art requires patience! |
